For the past 3 years, a month out of the year, I have participated in Microsoft Virtual Academy’s Know It. Prove It. Challenge’s, aka, the #MSMVA Know it. Prove It. Challenge. This has been very rewarding for my skillset. It has enabled me to focus an hour a day towards updating my technical knowledge or learn something new. In the past, these have been before Build. So, I could even review or catch up on something that interested me using the challenges which, given the many topics of Build, has been very helpful.

The Challenge

The challenge runs from April 18, 2017 – May 17, 2017. The challenges offer a wide range of skills to learn, from beginner to advanced. The topics covered this year are Game Development, Building Apps with Xamarin, Build Intelligence into your Apps, Web Development for Beginners, IT Pro Fundamentals and Azure for IT Pros.

This year, I am focusing on the Xamarin and Intelligent Apps challenges. Doing this should round out my application development skillset with a deeper understanding of mobile development and gain new skills in predictive analytics and cognitive services. If you are up to the challenge, I urge you to go to mva.microsoft.com and take the challenge. Because the remarkable thing about knowledge is that it is yours to keep and no one can take it away from you. So, always keep learning.

Happy learning!
